Founded in 1992 by the Hindu Society, Westridge grew from a small community-aided school into a thriving independent primary in the heart of Ridgeview, Harare.
Built by a community.
Westridge was established in 1992 as a co-educational community school within the premises of the Gujarati School, with the help of the Hindu Society. It stands on Mahatma Gandhi Road in the suburb of Ridgeview, Harare.
In 1993 it opened with a single stream for its first pupils in Grades 1 to 5. A second stream followed, and by 2000 — with the Hindu Society’s new E Block complete — every grade up to Grade 7 had two classes.
That growth is the work of many hands: the Hindu Society, dedicated heads, the board of governors, parents and teachers.
